On Saturday, 26 May, the Tage Alter Musik instrument exhibition begins in Regensburg, Germany. Follow the link to see available concerts, and a list of attending luthiers. I’ll be there with the instruments pictured above: two bass viols (a division bass and a Renaissance bass), as well as two fiddles, and two violas da braccio.
The festival itself opens Friday, 25 May with a special concert given by der Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin,’ performing ‘Symphonie h-Moll „Die Unvollendete“ D. 759 Messe Nr. 5 As-Dur für Soli, Chor und Orchester D. 678′ by Schubert. Have a listen at the track below (Blavet’s Flute Concerto in a-minor) to hear a sample of their playing. Hope to meet you in Regensburg!
